Some people argue that the government should give every unemployed person a mobile phone and should make sure they have access to the internet. They believe this is the best way of using public money to reduce the problem of unemployment. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Many people claim that the government should take care of society’s problems. The lack of jobs is one of the huge problems. Today, the situation has become worse due to the economic crisis.

It is impossible to find a job without any access to information. Using the Internet is the most convenient way to do it, because it is easy and cheap. Moreover, the web covers nearly all areas of people's interests. However, it would be too expensive for the government to provide every unemployed person with such kind of connection. In practice, we can see other cheaper ways of finding a job like though a free newspaper, visiting a recruiting agency or watching advertisements on TV.

Another useful device for communication is a mobile phone. In fact, it is a great invention which has made our life more comfortable and has given us so much pleasure. You are always online and it allows you not to miss any calls. However, this service is not free and owners have to pay for it from time to time. It is impossible for jobless people to use mobile phones even though it has become much cheaper than it used to be. At the same time, you can use snail mail, but it takes a long time.

At first, one might think that providing unemployed people with free access to the internet and mobile phones is the best decision, but, in fact, it is not a cheap one. I think it depends on the country to choose what would be better for it. We must agree that if we cannot afford to spend public money on the means of connection for unemployed people, we should find another way of solving this problem, by spending money more effectively.
